Linda grew up in White River, South Africa, on the edge of Kruger National Park, where elephants, lions and leopards were never far away. As a girl, she was happiest indoors with a pencil and paper, drawing the world outside her window.

 

Then life got full. Raising her children came first, and her drawings were packed away.

 

When her children grew up and left home, Linda picked up the pencil again. She took drawing lessons, discovered Procreate on her iPad, and fell in love with illustration all over again. Somewhere along the way, the girl who stayed inside to draw became the mom who laces up her boots and says, "Let's go." Today you'll find her hiking trails, camping under the stars, and turning those adventures into books for young children about nature, wonder and time spent together.

 

Her very first book, Milo, Mom, and the Magic on the Trail, is about the wonder found on a trail, and a mom who says, "Let's go" – just the two of them. A tender, joyful celebration of the moms who show up and never let their children miss a single moment of magic. Now available on Amazon.

 

Now Linda is taking readers home. Sophia's African Safari is set in the Kruger National Park. Sophia and her mom go on a safari looking for elephants, rhinos and one very hard-to-find leopard. The book ends with an elephant song inspired by the one Linda's grandmother used to sing to her.  Book 1 is now available on Amazon, and a companion book for younger readers is coming soon.
