Unfading.

First, I want to look at what does the word purpose mean to me.  According to the dictionary it means: the aim or goal of a person.  Or the feeling of being determined to do or achieve something.

Then, let’s look at the biblical meaning:

In Proverbs 19:21:  It is the steadfast counsel from God.  To plan, to ask advice, and to build your purpose around God.

In Psalm 33:11:  It is mental activity that moves from inward reflection to outward purpose.

Now that we have a little bit of background, this is my viewpoint on how I see purpose:

I love sunrises, and normally I sit in my bed early in morning drinking my coffee and reading a chapter in the Bible to start my day.  In Texas the sunrises slowly, and slowly the sky turns to a bright orange.

Finding my new purpose in this season of life is not a dramatic experience but rather a slow awakening.  Just like the sunrise, it is the early morning sun slowly creeping into a room I forgot was mine.

I am not trying to become someone completely different or abandoning my family in this process.  By me taking a few months to create art and writing, I am slowly opening my eyes to the possibilities.

I always thought our God given purpose will just be there from the beginning.  But for me that is not the case.  I have the talent to be creative.  That is the gift God gave me, but if I do nothing with that gift, how will I find my purpose in that gift.  It is by taking time everyday just for me, that I have the freedom to learn and create to find that purpose.

By spending time with God and listening and learning. That is my purpose in this season. This is also how I make sure my purpose is God centered.
